In India prediction of someone's future is done based on the diagram showing the relative positions of the stars and planets at his or her birth. The famous scripture called Jyothisha thought to be written by Veda Vyasa Maharshi himself 5000 years ago is the key to all these predictions which are also considered to be very much correct by the people who go to the concerned Vedic Scholar. Also wherever in India the predictions done by the scholars are same because they'll land on the same page where Sage Veda Vyasa has written about you. Such is the consistency of predictions done in India based of Ancient Vedic Scriptures unlike Nostradamus predictions which are worthless and can be interpreted in any way you want.
