~OSHO @Sambhog_Se_Samadhi_Ki_Aur_05
आत्मिक प्रेमही साछा प्रेमहै और वाही प्रार्थना बनजाता है ।।
What does the Hindi part above say?
OSHO says -
The heart is the seat of love and the heart is unstable. Body is more stable than the mind. The body is in a state of constancy. The heart is mercurial; the body is constant, stable. A flower blooms in the morning and by evening it droops, falls to the ground. Flowers are alive - born, will survive and die.
There is very little difference between going to a prostitute and being in a marriage without love. You buy a prostitute for a night, whereas you purchase a wife for your whole life; this is the only difference. When there is no love a purchase is being made – whether you are hiring a woman for a night or making arrangements for a lifetime. Of course, because of the day-to-day association a kind of relationship comes into being – and we call it love. This is not love; love is something else altogether. These marriages are simply of the body, and so the relationship can never go any deeper than the physical.
A man and a woman who can meet on the spiritual level, who can unite spiritually – even once – feel they have united for endless lives to come. There is a deep fluidity; timelessness and pure ecstasy. Love is the experience of unity. when two lives unite. When such a harmony exists between two people I call it love.

I am not sure whenever Osho talks about marriage which he never experienced himself. Why would the bond that manifests through marriage be less than a bond you find outside marriage? You can find each other spiritually, even in an arranged marriage. Love marriage, too. It is always dangerous to generalize just from one's own experience.
But in arranged marriage you expect love from someone who failed to love until marriage. I think first love then marriage would be properly as it brings joy in the relationship but arranged marriages are done based on - superficial appearance, carnal desires, comfort, security, respect, future, wealthiness, caste and other futile stuff except love or joy which is why I think most arranged marriages have gone to the dogs. I feel arranged marriage in nothing but a legal contract for the provision of comfort, sex and security to each other.
Hm difficult to say. I have never been in an arranged marriage. But I know that also in love marriage we marry an illusion, a projection. It needs couple of years to see the real person in the other, initially we see only what we want to see. Then the big disappointment: I married the prince, now he is a frog! Well, we all have princely and frogly aspects... can we go beyond???
OSHO may be in favour of love marriage if at all one wants to marry but he adds -
In Love marriage Joy is there, but joy too is very momentary. And the more romantic a love is, the more danger there is of falling from the peak, and then you fall into a dark valley
Yes, first we have to be married to ourselves. Then, as the cherry on top of the cake, we can take someone else in. A good marriage is a marriage with truth. Your own truth. If hubby accepts it, nice. If not, bye bye.
"more romantic a love is, the more danger there is of falling from the peak" Yep, this is about dependency Romantic love says that two people are one soul in two bodies. You singularly don't exist. Now, what if your partner starts hurting you or hindering you. In your romantic mind you think there is no life without him/her. so you remain with him/her, but suffering.
"In love marriage we marry an illusion, a projection." Long back I've sent a similar msg to my then girlfriend -
"All these days I have been relating to that xxxxx who is residing in my inner space, actually its not you but its like your virtual image created by me and to which I have been giving all the proprietary qualities that makes her more attractive and likely to me. This is all about my xxxxx, for me she is 10 out of 10 but coming to you, I don't know anything about you except the fact that you and the xxxxx that I love look similar to the outside."
Regarding Jesus coming back from death, I think it was resuscitation what really happened but not resurrection as Christians believe. Afterwards he travelled to Kashmir, lived there as Youzaasouf (the healer) and also died in Kashmir. This narrative is what I believe in as it was also confirmed by OSHO in the video - "Jesus Never Died on the Cross" @ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rVP3Jsp8CE8
The problem is that the Christian communities later on have changed this narrative to make him a God with the story of death on cross, resurrection and then going to heaven which is highly imaginative but unlikely to happen in real life terms. Whatdayathink?
The first step of meditation is throwing all your craziness out. It is a simple method, if you are not a coward – I mean if you are not a gentleman. It simply means gibberish.
Speak any language that you don't know, or make sounds, but don't sit there like a buddha; that stage comes later.
"Gibberish is to get rid of the active mind,
silence to get rid of the inactive mind and
let-go is to enter into the transcendental."
Meditation starts by being separate from the mind, by being a witness.
That is the only way of separating yourself from anything.
If you are looking at the light, naturally one thing is certain:
you are not the light, you are the one who is looking at it.
If you are watching the flowers, one thing is certain:
you are not the flower, you are the watcher.
Watching is the key of meditation. Watch your mind
If you want to understand exactly what meditation is,
Gautam Buddha is the first man to come to its right,
exact definition - Meditation is Witnessing.
"Light and darkness cannot exist together; they cannot have a co-existence. Why can light and darkness not exist together? Because darkness has no substance in it; darkness has no existence in it. It is nothing but the absence of light, so how can absence and presence exist together? If light is there then absence cannot exist. If absence exists, light cannot be present there. Awareness is a single solution to all problems. "
Do not believe if you want to know. The first step towards knowing is, to become free from beliefs. If you ask me, if you ask my arithmetic, it will seem a little contrary, it will seem a little awkward, but I am helpless about it. I am obliged to say the truth as it is.
If you really become an atheist, a non-believer, then perhaps some day you may become a theist, a knower. There is no contradiction between atheism and theism. Atheism is a stairway.. the first step..towards becoming a theist. If it is in my power, I would make each and every child an atheist. I would create curiosity in each child, would create questions, would create the desire to search. In the life of every child i would fill up intense inspiration, that you find out, but do not believe and until you have known, do not stop. Buddha may have known so Buddha would reach and Nanak may have known so Nanak would reach, and Kabir may have known so Kabir would reach. By their attaining, you cannot attain. You will reach only when you know. And the first condition is that the mind's slate should be empty. Wipe it out all that the others have written. Cleanse your slate, clean it up. Let your book be blank. And the fun is as soon as you make your book blank the godliness gets invited. That flower descends on the blank books only. That ray reaches blank books only. Only on the blank books that explosion happens. A blank book means an innocent mind-- free of concepts and beliefs. 'You haven't known the name of godliness' Then you will be able to know. Only then you will be able to know.
'Prayerfulness has diminished.' Rahim is saying, the prayerfulness has been lost because the very name of godliness people have forgotten. The very acquaintance with godliness is no longer there. Between godliness and people there are the pundits and the priests and the imam's and the clerics and the Pope-- who can say how many people are in between! Between godliness and you such a crowd is standing that only people's back you are able to see. The face of godliness how can you see! Get rid of this crowd.
Prayerfulness has diminished. The prayers are going on, but they are hollow. You also know this very well. You even go to the temple and bow down, but your ego does now bow down. Rather what happens is, if the temple is crowded you bow down with more pomp and show, you create a lot of noise.
When I was small, in my village the temple I used to be taken to, it was a Jaina temple; during the entire year no one would particularly go, but when a specific Jaina festival days would come in those 10 days there would be huge crowds. Think of those ten days as of free loot. And what calculations people have made! Those ten days come during the rains... when farming is not possible, neither trading is possible, nor any other business is possible, all the shops remain empty, all the farmers would be sitting at home-- the rains are torrential. How clever people are! The ten days that they have found are such that nothing is lost. They have sought them very calculatingly. They are anyway sitting idle and if one is to get godliness for free, why miss it!
In those ten days I saw an amusing thing that when there is a huge crowd people would take the worship lamp and dance in such a way, those very people whom I had never seen dancing when alone. If there were only a few people, they would dance halfheartedly. And if the crowd was huge, then what would happen is they would not stop, they had to be stopped with great difficulty, they would dance uncontrollably. There was one such dancer. One day I followed him. He asked me, why are you following me? I said, I want to ask you of a secret. I have seen you in all colors, and in all ways. When you are alone then you don't even touch the worship-plate, When there are a few people then you pick up the worship-plate, you circle it once or twice around the statue and then put it back. If there are ten to fifteen people then there is a thrill in your feet. And if there are 100 or 200 people there then one has to stop you, one has to catch hold of you. Even by holding he could not be caught, he kept on slipping away, he kept on getting away, again and again he would pick up the worship-plate. After all people have to do some other work also, they have to go home, they have to eat food. So what is the secret of it? He said, what secret? What is the sense in dancing when alone, there has to be someone to see it!
In a year there are only few such occasions when everyone gathers. On the last day of that particular Jaina festival, the Paryushan he used to create such an uproar as though he is drunk with alcohol. Even if people bow down in a temple even that bowing down is not a surrender of their egos. They bow down, and yet it is worship of the ego.
This OSHO Talk is an excerpt from an interview with the Italian edition of "SCIENCE 85 MONTHLY" which is part of an original series given by OSHO to a live audience.
In this video, OSHO speaks about Science And The Inner Journey answering to the following question put to him:
One of the basic problems of science is language. Science is growing because we have a clear definition of what we are talking about. One of the basic problems for our scientists when they are trying to understand what the inner journey means is to define cleary, for example what consciousness means. Most of the scientists doesn't make any difference between consciousness, awareness or conscious mind. They are using these terms in the same way, so is it possible to have an understanding about those terms?
The Scientists deep down does not believe that there in anything INNER.
Denying the INNER is very unscientific attitude.
The Methodology that works for the outer, cannot work for the inner simple because the inner is opposite dimension of the outer, the same methods will not be applicable. You will have to find new methodology for the inner and that's what is called Meditation.
"In COMPASSION, you simply give. In love, you are thankful because the other has given something to you. In COMPASSION, you are thankful because the other has taken something from you, you are thankful because the other has not rejected you."
You had come with energy to give, you had come with many flowers to share, and the other allowed you, the other was receptive. You are thankful because the other was receptive.
"A mother's love for the child is closest to COMPASSION. Why?
Because the mother has known the child in herself; he was a member of her being."
In the human experience, the relationship between a mother and her child is the closest to COMPASSION. People call it love but it should not be called love. It is more like compassion than love because it has no passion in it.
"COMPASSION comes, there are moments when you are flowing, when nothing holds you, when you are open. Allow it! Enjoy it! Make it a point that it comes more and more. Don't close your heart. Float with it. Let it stream. Without COMPASSION, there is no truth."
Excerpted from - ॐ Mani Pamde Hum #1, OSHO speaks about the Tibetan Mantra - "ॐ Mani Padme Hum" which is considered as one of the most beautiful expression for the ultimate experience.
"The only country in the world which has devoted all its genius
for the inner exploration is Tibet.
Its findings are of tremendous value.
ॐ Mani Pamde Hum - is one of the most beautiful expression for the ultimate experience. Its meaning is the sound of silence. The Diamond in the lotus."
The mantra Om Mani Padme Hum is easy to say yet quite powerful,
because it contains the essence of the entire teaching. When you say
the first syllable "Om" it is blessed to help you achieve perfection in the
practice of generosity, "Ma" helps perfect the practice of pure ethics,
and "Ni" helps achieve perfection in the practice of tolerance and
patience. "Päd", the fourth syllable, helps to achieve perfection of perseverance, "Me" helps achieve perfection in the practice of concentration, and the final sixth syllable "Hum" helps achieve perfection in the practice of wisdom.
So in this way recitation of the mantra helps achieve perfection in the six practices from generosity to wisdom. The path of these six perfections is the path walked by all the Buddhas of the three times. What could then be more meaningful than to say the mantra and accomplish the six perfections?"
The six syllables purify the six realms of existence in suffering.
In this video which is taken from the series - 'From Darkness to Light #18' OSHO explains why neither Krishna nor Mahavira nor Buddha served the poor, opened the schools, hospitals whereas christian saints served the poor, sick and orphans and who is more religious.
"The Death Penality is not punishment but a crime committed by the society and its courts against a single individual who did not follow the rules of the society."
"Death Penalty shows Mens inhumanity to Men.
It shows that man is still living in the barbarous age. Civilization still remains an idea, it has not become reality."
"Changing from death penalty to life sentence is going not towards civilization, it is going still deeper into barbarous inhuman darkness, unconsciousness."
"This is the rule of a barbarous society. Eye for the eye and Head for a head. If somebody cuts your one hand, than in a barbarous society this is a simple law - one of your hands should be cut. The same has been carried down the ages. Death penalty is exactly the same law as 'Eye For An Eye'."
"Death penalty is a crime committed by the society against a single individual who is helpless. It is not a penalty but it is a crime and you can understand why it is committed. It is a revenge the society is taking because the man did not follow the rules of the society."
This video is an Excerpt from - The Razor's Edge #11 series in which the most Intelligent, Insightful and Inspiring Modern Mystic - OSHO talks about our beautiful planet Earth and the consciousness of human beings living here.
In the most appropriate way possible OSHO answers to the question:
Why have human beings gone through this struggle since the very beginning? Were they not already highly developed civilizations living on this earth and yet their consciousness got lost and man had to start all over again. Right now it seems to be a particularly dark period. Is there such a cosmic law that says only out of the mud the lotus can grow and will this earth ever become garden of flowers in deep gratitude and love?
In this humorous video which is a part of OSHO TALKS - silence shared in words, OSHO says the story of 'The Philosophical Frog and the Centipede' to explain that
Life has its own ways, the moment you start managing everything you spoil. Allow life its freedom, about love allow freedom and don't be guided by fixed ideas but experience yourself.
"To Accept That I Don't Know is The Beginning of The Real Knowledge."
"Heart is the transcendence of duality. Heart sees things clearly, and love is its natural quality nothing to be trained in. And this love has no hate as a counterpart."
All YOU HAVE IS THIS VERY MOMENT, DO NOT GO ON POSTPONING
This video is an excerpt from an OSHO talk on 'From Personality to Individuality #4' in which OSHO speaks on Jealousy and goes to the roots of the phenomenon of Jealousy and how society has used it as a device to divide and rule.
Jealousy means living in comparison and from the very childhood, every society, every culture and every religion teaches everybody comparison and the child is bound to learn. He is just like a tabula-rasa. Man comes in existence with all the doors open, all the directions available, all the dimensions for him to choose, but before he can choose, before he can be, before he can even feel his being he is spoiled.
If you being happy or sad is dependent on comparison then it is the most dangerous thing to happen to any human being. In the competition ladder, the guy who is below you gives you tremendous satisfaction and you are always trying to reach to the level of those who are above you and this keep you moving up the ladder throughout your life and at-last you will have to end up somewhere in the middle, still having a bunch full of people above and below you because the ladder you have been chasing has no end point. It is just like a circular ladder and it is for making you not be yourself. Because If you are yourself you have found contentment, fulfillment and ecstasy.
